The Crisis in Ukraine

Following the 2013 decision of the government of Ukraine not to sign a cooperation agreement with the European Union, and subsequently the annexation of Crimea, were protests and targeted sanctions against companies doing business in Eastern Ukraine. Paired with difficulties in implanting a ceasefire agreement, fighting continues and the question of whether to send defense capabilities to prevent Russian expansion remains.
