Intern With EGF

Aug 12, 2020

EGF is looking for interns! We are seeking Research Interns to work on our Independent America project. Independent America seeks to explore how U.S. foreign policy could better be tailored to new global realities and to the preferences of American voters. To date our research has been covered by Time Magazine, Axios, CNN, MSNBC and others. Interns will report to Research Associate Caroline Gray and will focus on supporting ongoing research, podcast development, data analysis, social media strategy and marketing, and helping to promote our findings with a wider and more diverse audience.

RESEARCH INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

Eurasia Group Foundation (EGF) seeks part-time Research Interns in our New York, NY office (remote for Fall 2020). We are a nonprofit organization led by Board President Ian Bremmer. Our mission is to educate and empower those left out of the foreign policy conversation, connecting individuals to the geopolitical issues and events that impact their lives.

SUMMARY

EGF seeks part-time Research Interns who can be available in EGF’s New York City office for at least 15 hours per week (depending on availability) in the 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters. Research Interns will be working on a project that explores the advantages and implications of a less militarized, more restrained US foreign policy.

The ideal candidate is an undergraduate or graduate student in international relations, political science, communications, security studies or public policy who is mission-driven, self-directed, a strong writer, and a strategic thinker. The intern should have the ability to distill complex policy documents and research reports into clearly written summaries. An aptitude for either qualitative methods or quantitative methods is desirable. Experience with infographic design, social media or strategy, and journalistic/narrative writing is strongly preferred. This individual will report to EGF’s Research Associate.

EGF is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to helping people make meaning out of the impact geopolitics has on their lives by empowering them to get involved in the issues that matter to them most. EGF takes complex issues and ensures they are accessible to everyone through traditional and nontraditional media, including events and meetings, papers and presentations, videos, infographics, podcasts, and the full array of social media channels. www.egfound.org.
