Greg M. Boyle

Greg Boyle is a litigation partner in Jenner & Block’s Chicago office, where he focuses his practice on complex financial disputes.  Greg has handled numerous enforcement investigations conducted by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) relating to matters including complex financial products and public company accounting.  He has conducted internal investigations and defended complex civil litigation relating to these matters.  Greg’s experience also includes providing counsel to and defending civil litigation for exchanges and self-regulatory organizations in the derivatives markets.  His other litigation experience includes trying cutting edge trade secret matters for financial firms and defending law firms in complex legal malpractice litigation.  Greg has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star.”

Greg serves on the Board of the Chicago Bar Foundation, and chairs its Advocacy Committee, which works on legislative and administrative solutions for improving access to justice for all.  He has an active pro bono practice, in which he has defended state court felony cases, asylum cases, and pursued state and federal habeas relief for prisoners.  Greg is the author of the Illinois chapter of the ABA Section of Litigation’s 50 State Survey of Legal Malpractice Law, and has taught trial advocacy at the John Marshall Law School and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy’s Midwest Trial Skills Program.

Greg is a member of the Firm’s Complex Commercial, Professional Responsibility, Class Action, and Markets and Trading Litigation Practices. He serves on the Firm’s Finance, Hiring, and Pro Bono Committees.  He earned a B.A. in Political Science from Carleton College in 1993, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1997.
